Local Employment Partnership (LEP)
Local Employment Partnership (LEP) is a Government programme that aims to improve job prospects for people by helping them to gain work experience.
DWP participates in LEP as an employer. We offer clients from all LEP groups employment on an initial 51-week contract with the option of extending this to a total of 18 months.
During the appointment, LEP employees have the same terms and conditions as any other employee.
The aim of the DWP LEP is to enable LEP employees to develop their skills to a level where they are able to apply for a permanent position in either DWP, or with external employers.
