Application process
Individual job adverts will tell you how to apply. The process you will go through is different, depending on what kind of job you are applying for.
We carry out all our fixed term permanent recruitment exercises under fair and open competition at every stage and we monitor the procedures carefully to make sure that they do not unfairly discriminate against anyone.
We are positive about disabled people and operate the Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
Applying for an Administrative Assistant/Band A, Administrative Officer/Band B or Executive Officer/Band C job
We will ask you to fill in an application form or do a telephone application. From the application form we will decide whether to invite you to do some selection tests. These could be literacy and numeracy tests, exercises telling us how you would act in certain situations or skills tests, e.g. keyboard skills. We may then ask you to do one or more of the following: interview, group discussion or telephone roleplay.
Applying for a Higher Executive Officer/Band D, Senior Executive Officer/Band E, Grade 7/Band F or Grade 6/Band G job
We will ask you to complete an application form. We may then use a combination of: verbal and numerical reasoning tests, selection tests, skills tests, interview, group discussion or presentation. You will receive further details of the tests to be used prior to attending assessment.
Applying for a specialist job
The recruitment process is different for specialist jobs. Read the information for each specialist group in the Specialist section.
