Pathways to Work
Between 80–90 per cent of people coming onto incapacity benefits tell us they want to get back into work. The Pathways to Work process will help them become independent and earn a living by targeting some of their health-related barriers and by providing financial support.
Since December 2006, Pathways support has been delivered across 18 districts to 40 per cent of all new and repeat incapacity benefits customers.
From 3 December 2007, Pathways provision is available in a further 15 Jobcentre Plus Districts, delivered by contracted providers. The final phase of Pathways to Work contracts was announced on 20 December 2007 to deliver the programme in the remaining 16 Jobcentre Plus districts from April 2008, completing the national rollout across Great Britain.
