Right to Bid
Both the Government and our Department faces a very challenging agenda over the next few years as we strive to make a reality of the objectives we have set for engaging even more of our people in active economic life and eradicating child poverty. The ambitious ideas outlined in the December 2008 White Paper 'Raising expectations and increasing support: reforming welfare for the future' cannot be delivered without harnessing the expertise and experience of a wide range of private, public and third sector organisations to provide welfare-to-work services.
One of the ideas in the White Paper is the establishment of a 'Right to Bid', to capture and explore innovative ideas from external organisations which can provide measurable improvements in the way services are delivered.
There are limited constraints on ideas which can be proposed under Right to Bid. Any proposal that falls within DWP business which is genuinely innovative and does not replicate existing or planned programmes will be considered.
The revised Right to Bid Bidders Guide now provides more clearly defined guidance on the ethos of Right to Bid and background information on DWP current work with Partners. A further key change has been the introduction of a £500,000 funding limit per Right to Bid proposal.
The Guide details the Right to Bid approach and process, and seeks your engagement and commitment.
The Right to Bid team are happy to provide support to prospective bidders. If you would like to discuss your bid, please make the request via the dedicated email address right.tobid@dwp.gsi.gov.uk including your contact details, and a member of the team will be in touch within two working days and they will ring you within two working days.
Urgent Update
