Backing Young Britain Non-Graduate Internships and Work Experience Placements (Ngiwe)
Background
On 29 July the Government launched a new cross-departmental campaign 'Backing Young Britain', calling on businesses to create more opportunities for young people, to give them a better start on the career ladder. As part of the campaign, the Government has committed to providing 10,000 Non-graduate internships and 3,000 work experience placements to JSA customers aged 18-21.
As the Backing Young Britain campaign continues, there is a possibility that funding for a further 10,000 places for Non Graduate Internships for young people 18-21 could become available. This decision will be known early in December 2009. The deadline for Tenders is 11:00am 1 December. As Ministers are keen for this contract to go -live in January 2010 DWP request therefore, that potential suppliers submit a full proposal for 10,000 non -graduate internship places and 3,000 work experience placements. An additional proposal will also be required from potential suppliers to demonstrate how they would manage a contract of 20,000 non-graduate internships and 3,000 Work Experience placements.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is offering organisations the opportunity to compete, by one stage tender, for this programme. There will be one contract awarded to cover the whole of England , Scotland and Wales .
