Backing Young Britain - Mentoring

Background

On 29 July the Government launched a new cross-departmental campaign, 'Backing Young Britain', calling on businesses to create more opportunities for young people, to give them a better start on the career ladder. As part of the campaign, the Government has committed to providing 10,000 mentoring places for young people aged 18 to 24.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is offering organisations the opportunity to compete, by one stage tender for this programme. There will be one contract awarded to cover the whole of England , Scotland and Wales .

A supplier event will be held on 10 November 2009 at the Novotel, Sheffield Centre (see www.novotel.com for location and access details) to explain DWP requirements more fully and to answer questions from potential bidders.

The contract will commence on 29 January 2010 and run until 30 September 2011.

The deadline for receipt by DWP Commercial Directorate Sourcing, of your fully completed tender is no later than 11:00am on 1 December 2009. Tenders must be submitted in time to arrive by this deadline. Please note that late tenders may not be accepted.
