Support for Newly Unemployed Jobseekers

The Support for Newly Unemployed Jobseekers was introduced as a two year recessionary measure due to the Economic Downturn in April 2009 and will therefore be ending on 31st March 2011 as planned.

The support has been a great success with over 200,000 customers attending the Support for Newly Unemployed Professionals and the Non-Professional Jobsearch Support. In order to ensure that eligible customers who require this support are able to take advantage of this provision referrals must be made on or before 18th March 2011, with provision completed by 31st March 2011.

Part 2 of the Programme Specific Provider Guidance (Jobsearch for Professionals) will be removed and Part 3 (Jobcentre Plus Support Contract) will be amended to reflect the changes.
