Future Jobs Fund
29 July 2009
The first tranche of successful bidders have been announced for the Future Jobs Fund today. These bids will create up to 47,000 new jobs – nearly a third of the 150,000 jobs that the fund will create. This will give the long term unemployed, particularly young people the experience and confidence that will help them find long term employment.
The Future Jobs Fund is a central part of the Young Person’s Guarantee which will guarantee young jobseekers approaching 12 months unemployment a job, training or work experience via the Community Task Force.
The Department will continue to liaise with existing providers about any potential impacts on referrals as a result of the Young Person’s Guarantee.
