Details of the contract
In July 2009 the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, as part of the Backing Young Britain (BYB) campaign, announced a number of measures to help young people to find work and build their confidence and skills. This included a commitment to support unemployed young people aged 18-24 claiming Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) across England, Scotland and Wales, by providing:
- 20,000, 8-13 week non graduate internships, with eligibility from week 26 of JSA
- 5,000, 2 week work experience placements, with eligibility from Day 1 of JSA
Duration of the contract
A 17 month contract, commencing 29 January 2010 and finishing 30 June 2011.

In July 2009 the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, as part of the Backing Young Britain (BYB) campaign, announced a number of measures to help young people to find work and build their confidence and skills. This included a commitment to make 10,000 mentoring places available to young people across England, Scotland and Wales.
Duration of the contract
A 20 month contract, commencing 29 January 2010 and finishing 30 September 2011.
