Notice to Providers – European Social Fund (ESF) Phase 2 Opportunities to Tender

23 February 2009

Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) Events

Dear Provider

Following the Notice to Providers, published on the Supplying DWP website on 6th February, we are now able to provide further details of the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire events for the ESF Phase 2 tendering round.

Two PQQ events will take place, the first in London, at the Marriott Regents Park Hotel, on Friday 6th March and the second in Birmingham, at the Jury’s Inn Hotel, on Monday 9th March. Both events are scheduled to start at 10:30am and finish at 3:30pm. It is anticipated there will be significant interest in these events and consequently organisations will be restricted to attendance at one event only, with a maximum of two delegates per organisation. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so all interested parties should complete the Delegate Attendance Request form and return to ESFBirmingham.PST@dwp.gsi.gov.uk by Tuesday 3rd March 2009. Confirmation of places will be sent via e-mail along with an agenda and joining instructions. Directions to each of the venues can be found in the respective links below:

Incorporated in to the events, Jobcentre Plus colleagues from Regional ESF teams will provide further input and information on the local aspects of the provision. In addition, DWP has secured support from an external consultant, Community Engine, to provide advice and guidance on formulating Consortia/Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV).

During this exercise DWP is looking to further facilitate networking opportunities between potential Prime and Sub-Contractors, including Third Sector and smaller organisations, by creating a networking database. Further information about this proposal will be given at the PQQ events and will also appear on the DWP website following publication of the PQQ. The full invitation to complete a PQQ is due to be published on the Supplying DWP website on 2nd March 2009.
