Key performance indicators
The Commercial Directorate's Key Performance Indicators are:
Improving Procurement VFM
Declared procurement VFM gains, using the OGC VFM measurement methodology, as percentage of total spend, with year on year improvement (Benchmark = 3% from OGC statistics).
Organisational Efficiency
Reduce contract management organisation cost as a percentage of total spend managed across Commercial Directorate measured year on year (benchmarked against external comparators).
Estate Strategy
Deliver the Estate Strategy for DWP; in particular reduce the size and cost of the DWP estate in line with the HR Workforce Strategy staff reduction targets and associated Business Strategies.
Service Quality
Achieve year on year improvement in Commercial Directorate service levels as measured through customers' assessments of Commercial Directorate service quality, professional competence, and achievement of VFM and supplier performance.
Commercial Strategy
To develop and implement a DWP Commercial Strategy covering all DWP commercial activity and establish effective systems to monitor and report delivery of all Strategy targets.
Governance
To embed effective processes and best practice across all DWP commercial activity, in particular commercial assurance, governance and commercial risk management across DWP and achieve improving effectiveness of these arrangements as measured by annual audits.
Sustainable Development
Meet estates targets in the DWP Sustainable Development Strategy and support the achievement of cross-Government Sustainable Development indicators:
- Maintain high and stable levels of employment;
- Tackle poverty and social exclusion.
