What is Schizophrenia?
Schizophrenia is a mental health disorder characterised by disturbances of thinking, perception, emotion and behaviour. It is one of the more severe mental illnesses often leading to serious recurrent and long-term disability. The cause of the condition is unknown.
Contrary to popular belief schizophrenia is not a condition in which a person develops a split or multiple personality. It causes a general disturbance of thought processes and pervasive disruption of the personality.
