Variability

Superficial thrombophlebitis occurs as a short term acute episode. It may be recurrent with episodes recurring at infrequent intervals but between these there would be no significant variability in the person’s condition.

Deep vein thrombosis also tends to occur episodically but once resolved, long term preventative treatment should avert recurrence with no significant variation.
