Causes of Liver failure
These are many and varied including:
- Viral hepatitis,
- Cirrhosis,
- Chronic active hepatitis,
- Drugs – paracetamol, anti-retrovirals, halothane,
- Toxins – alcohol, mushroom poisoning, industrial solvents,
- Budd-Chiari syndrome and veno occlusive disease,
- Post-liver transplantation.
