Risk factors

There are a number of personal attributes, often described as risk factors which are associated with the development of IHD. Age, sex, and family history are factors which cannot be changed.

Then there are major risk factors, amenable to change, such as smoking, raised blood fats, including cholesterol (hyperlipidaemia) high blood pressure (hypertension) and diet.
