Anaemia due to Vitamin C deficiency

Vitamin C deficiency causes "scurvy" (rare in the UK), and often an associated anaemia. The administration of Vitamin C will bring about the correction of this condition. Often there is an associated iron and protein deficiency, which will also need attention. The giving of Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), is generally unnecessary, if a well balanced diet containing fruit and vegetables is prescribed.
