Prognosis and Duration

Around 5% of individuals experience a spontaneous remission of symptoms within five years of onset. However, relapse is common even in these. Drug treatment may control the symptoms but the underlying problem tends to become permanent in most cases.

In general, there should be little adverse effect on day - to - day activities. In the more severe cases, there may be significant functional restrictions.

If entitlement is appropriate - 1 year award
