Prognosis and duration of disabling effects
Any mobility and care needs are likely to be the result of secondary effects of the valvular heart disease such as stroke or heart failure. If evidence suggests that the customer has heart failure or has had a stroke, which may have resulted from valvular heart disease then go to Heart Failure guidance or Strokes guidance.
All information must be taken into account when considering the duration of disabling effects and the duration of disabling effects must be based on the particular circumstances of the individual claimant.
