Treatment of Sarcoidosis
- without symptoms should not take steroids and the benefits of treatment with steroids should be weighed up against the risk of potential side effects.

- Usually Non-Steroidal Anti- Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)

- Corticosteroid eye drops
- Oral corticosteroids

- Severe systemic disease affecting eyes (posterior uveitis),heart, brain and vital organs,
- disfiguring skin lesions
- Persistent infiltration of the lungs with worsening lung function readings
|
- Long-term corticosteroids such as 20mg to 40mg per day of prednisolone reducing to 15mg on alternate days for 6 -12 months
- This medication may be supplemented by, or replaced by immunosuppressants
- Hydroxychloroquine
