Clinical Features

This skin lesion or growth, or bump may appear on the face, ear, neck, chest, back, or scalp. It may have a pearly or waxy appearance, be white or lightly pink, flesh-coloured or brown and lie flat or slightly raised on the skin.

There may be visible blood vessels in the lesion or adjacent skin and may give the appearance of a scar-like lesion without a history of injury to the skin in that area.

However, symptoms of Rodent ulcer may vary on an individual basis for each patient.

A biopsy of a suspicious skin lesion is needed to confirm the diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma.
