Treatment

How is it treated?

RSI cannot be treated by medical professionals solely. It requires active participation by the sufferer over a period of possibly several months. (see Prevention).

Treatment, however, may consist of pain relief including ice/heat treatments. Manipulative techniques, stretches (for less acute pain and general maintenance) are also used together with strengthening exercises to improve posture and reduce fatigue in the long term.

Injections of a mild steroid sometimes help to settle the pain and inflammation down and occasionally extremely bad cases surgery may be used as a last resort.
