Sources of evidence

People with liver failure will be under hospital care in the majority of cases. Medical reports may be obtained from hospital doctors and specialist nurses working in liver units. If someone has recovered completely from acute liver failure they may have no further need to attend a hospital clinic. A general practitioner report will provide on their current state of health.
