Clinical features

The commonest symptom is swelling of a lymph node in the neck, armpit or groin. This is usually painless. Some people may feel generally unwell with the following systemic symptoms called ‘B symptoms’:

A rare problem at diagnosis is bone marrow involvement which may cause bone marrow suppression. Bone marrow suppression can be life threatening and symptoms include anaemia, risk of infection and severe bleeding because of low platelets.
