Disabling effects
The main disabling effects of arrhythmia are transient as the arrhythmia may be intermittent and can usually be well controlled by: -
- Medication,
- Electrical Cardioversion (ECV),
- Pacemaker,
- Surgical ablation of the conduction system.
In such cases, the disabling effects are not likely to be significant.
However, the underlying cause of the arrhythmia or consequences of the arrhythmia such as a stroke or heart failure may cause disabling effects. If evidence suggests that the customer has heart failure or has had a stroke, which may have resulted from an arrhythmia then go to either Heart Failure guidance or Strokes guidance.
