Scotland – Employment and prosperity
Work and Pensions Secretary John Hutton and his Ministerial team were in Scotland on the 26 January 2007 as part of a series of fact finding visits around Britain to see and hear the impact of the Government's Welfare Reform measures.
Ministers visited towns and cities up and down Scotland to see some of the innovative work being carried out in local communities to tackle poverty and unemployment.
To mark this visit, the Department has published 'Scotland – Employment and prosperity'.
During the course of the visit John Hutton made a speech entitled 'The Future of Welfare: Tackling Poverty and Worklessness in Scotland'.
