Review of Statutory Sick Pay
The Government announced a Review of Statutory Sick Pay in July 2007, when measures proposed in the Welfare Reform Green Paper "Empowering People to Work" to reduce complexity in Statutory Sick Pay did not receive wide support. The review was carried by a group of Employer Representatives, Employee Representatives as well of officials from DWP and other Government Departments. The review was carried out between November 2006 and July 2007.
Statutory Sick Pay review working group – final report
The final report of the Statutory Sick Pay review working group was published on 25 October 2007.
Lord McKenzie, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Lords), wrote to members of the review on 23 October 2007 with his response.
