Flexible working: working for families, working for business

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions established the Family Friendly Working Hours Taskforce to explore the challenges to increasing flexible working opportunities at all levels and provide recommendations for change. The Taskforce brings together a range of experts from business, organisations that represent businesses, employees and families, non-government bodies and government departments to provide expert perspective on flexible working practices.

The Taskforce believes that in order to achieve true cultural change, where flexible working opportunities have increased at all levels, more needs to be done to promote the business case for flexible working to employers and importantly more support is required to help all businesses to realise the benefits of flexible working in their organisation.

This report sets looks at this issue from the perspective of employers and sets out recommendations for what more can be done to both encourage and support employers to realise the benefits of flexible working in their organisation.
