Exception reports
Overall responsibility for ensuring that all parts of the Department honour the commitments set out in the DWP Welsh Language Scheme rests with the Permanent Secretary as Head of the Department for Work and Pensions.
It has been agreed with the Welsh Language Board that on an annual basis a compliance report will be submitted to the Permanent Secretary, copied to the Welsh Language Board and published on the main DWP Internet site.
This report, known as an “Exception report” concentrates on those areas where, for whatever reason, it has not been possible to meet the standards and commitments of the Department’s Welsh Language Scheme.
In addition to describing areas of non-compliance, the report to the Permanent Secretary includes the reasons why these instances have occurred, and sets out the measures taken or proposed to prevent a recurrence of the problem.
