Go to www.gov.uk/workplace-pensions for the latest information about automatic enrolment.

We archived this toolkit because it’s no longer up to date. We published it to support the launch of automatic enrolment in 2012.

People are living longer lives. The government has introduced a new law designed to help people save more for their retirement. Starting from 2012 employers will automatically enrol their workers into a workplace pension if they meet certain criteria.

The toolkit contains information, booklets, fact sheets and posters to help explain automatic enrolment and workplace pension reforms. It’s intended to help advisers to understand the changes and explain them to their audiences.

You can use the editable Rich Text format versions as the starting point for your own leaflets or newsletters or or you can copy and paste the information into your existing promotional material, for example.

Individuals can find automatic enrolment information at www.gov.uk/workplace-pensions

Automatic enrolment and pensions language guide

We looked at the way we describe automatic enrolment and pensions, as we know complex language can put people off. Our research led to the development of the Automatic enrolment and pensions language guide that we produced with our partners.

Case studies

We’ve published examples of who will and won’t be enrolled into a workplace pension starting from October 2012 (fictional studies).

Fact sheets

We’ve published a set of fact sheets about automatic enrolment and workplace pension reform. • National Employment Savings Trust

Posters

We’ve produced a series of posters to promote automatic enrolment into a workplace pension. Some are designed for employers and some for individuals. They are available in A4 and A3 format and some are editable.
