Offering a default option for defined contribution automatic enrolment pension schemes – consultation on draft guidance

We would welcome comments as part of a consultation on the draft guidance about offering a default option for defined contribution automatic enrolment pension schemes. The Government has developed the guidance to provide helpful information on the design, governance, communication and review of default options.
Please send any views by no later than 7 March 2011.

We would welcome your comments as part of a consultation on a proposal to amend the Pension Schemes (Investment) Regulations 2005 (“The Investment Regulations”) for the avoidance of doubt and to clarify that the borrowing necessary to establish the NEST Scheme is consistent with the intention of the regulations.

European Commission’s Green Paper on pensions – UK Government response

On 12 November the Coalition Government set out its response to the European Commission’s Green Paper “towards adequate, sustainable and safe European pension systems”, welcoming it as a timely contribution to the debate on the challenges of an ageing society.
