32. Is the health professional responsible for making a decision on my claim?

No, decisions on entitlement to Personal Independence Payment will be made by a DWP Case Manager, using all the evidence available to them, provided by you and the health professional.

33. If I am successful in my claim, when will my payments start from?

If your claim is successful payments will begin from the date that you called us to start your claim.

34. I have received my decision but I do not agree with it, what do I do now?

The Case Manager will call you to discuss the reasons for the decision and identify whether you have any further evidence that hasn’t been considered. If you disagree with the decision you can ask the Case Manager to look at it again – this is known as a reconsideration.
