Gloucestershire
Thirty Village Agents have been set up working in 145 rural parishes that have limited access to services locally. These agents help older people have easier access to a wide range of services.
Village Agents are local people, employed part-time, who become a trusted community member and resource. They network extensively with, for example, Parish Councillors, Community Nurses, Police Community Support Officers, social group organisers, transport providers and religious groups in rural areas.
Good practice
- Village agents (185KB)
local people employed part-time who build trust with older people and have been successful in providing access to a range of services from home safety to benefit advice and energy efficiency.
Pilot evaluation report
As part of the project, all pilots undertook local evaluation of their pilot in addition to the national evaluation being undertaken by Warwick Business School.
