What is the Pensions Education Fund?

The Pensions Education Fund is an initiative which aims to increase financial awareness among working people - both employees and the self employed - to help them make better plans for their retirement.

The fund is aimed at not-for-profit organisations, who will use the money to develop innovative ways to engage with working people about pensions and retirement planning - giving them the information they need to help them to make their own decisions about their retirement.

The Fund is administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and funding has been determined on a competitive basis with allocation of funds being based on:

Funding is available up to March 2008.

Local and national applications were invited from trade unions, trade associations, charities and voluntary sector bodies and other not-for-profit organisations throughout the UK..

Applications needed to be submitted to the DWP between Monday 4 June and 12 noon Friday 2 September 2005.

NB: The application period has now closed and no further applications will be accepted.

Contracts awarded

All applications for funding received within the specified bidding period were considered by an assessment panel. The assessment process is now complete and the organisations awarded contracts are:
