The Pensions Education Fund
What is the Pensions Education Fund?
The Pensions Education Fund is an initiative which aims to increase financial awareness among working people - both employees and the self employed - to help them make better plans for their retirement.
The fund is aimed at not-for-profit organisations, who will use the money to develop innovative ways to engage with working people about pensions and retirement planning - giving them the information they need to help them to make their own decisions about their retirement.
The Fund is administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and funding has been determined on a competitive basis with allocation of funds being based on:
- the quality of proposals received,
- the relevance of those proposals,
- the extent to which the proposals meet the aims and objectives outlined in the application pack, and
- the necessity to ensure a reasonable geographic distribution of activity, to engage with a range of partners in delivering initiatives, a variety of innovative approaches and to avoid duplication and overlap.
Funding is available up to March 2009.
Local and national applications were invited from trade unions, trade associations, charities and voluntary sector bodies and other not-for-profit organisations throughout the UK..
Applications needed to be submitted to the DWP between Monday 4 June and 12 noon Friday 2 September 2005.
NB: The application period has now closed and no further applications will be accepted.
