Registering a claim

When you receive a claim for compensation, send a notification of a claim for compensation to the CRU within 14 days. Sending this form does not mean that you have accepted liability for the accident, injury or disease.

We will send you an acknowledgement of notification of a compensation claim form. You will need to return this acknowledgement form to us when you apply for a Certificate.

To enable us to accurately determine any appropriate recoverable benefits, and to be able to deal with any urgent Certificate requests, please always provide a National Insurance number when registering a claim wherever possible.

You can email a completed CRU1 to cru1@dwp.gsi.gov.uk.

If you need bulk supplies of form CRU1 you should complete an iON order form (151KB) (RTF) and return it by either email or Fax as shown on the order form.
