Why we may edit transcripts

Sometimes it is necessary to edit the transcripts of speeches made by the Department’s Ministers. This is because the audio quality made it impossible to transcribe or because government websites cannot carry party political content. This is in accordance with long-standing practice under the Ministerial and Civil Service codes.
