Data matching HB/CTB records with Credit Reference Agency data

The DWP is working with 11 local authorities and Experian (a private Credit Reference Agency), to evaluate the effectiveness of data-matching against a new information source. In particular, it should help identify cases of ‘living together’ fraud.

If successful, this could be rolled out nationally to detect fraud and error not currently identified by Housing Benefit Matching Service monthly data-matching.
