e-Transfer update
Data Transfer Appliances (DTA) have now been installed in all Local Authorities (LAs) and national rollout of e-enablement is well under way. The project plans to complete full rollout by the end of November 2009.
Initially 10 pilot sites were chosen to receive electronic LA Input Documents (LAIDs) from Jobcentre Plus and once this was proved to be successful the project introduced the LA Claim Information (LACI) from the Pension, Disability and Carers Service (PDCS) to these 10 pilot sites.
National rollout of both the LAID and LACI commenced on Monday 28 September 2009. Those LAs that are e-enabled are now receiving electronic LAIDs, issued by Jobcentre Plus when taking claims to Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Jobseekers Allowance and electronic LACIs issued by PDCS when taking claims to Pension Credit.
From Monday 26th October 2009 the ESA LACI will be introduced to 5 of the original 10 pilot sites and once proved successful, this will be rolled out to all other LAs and will be incorporated in the national rollout.
Initially the files transferred electronically will be in a PDF format, which can be uploaded into a Document Management System or printed off in the LA.
During 2010 we are looking at being able to send files in XML format as well allowing them to be loaded directly into a LA’s back office processing system.
Regular updates on the project progress are included in the HB/CTB General Information Bulletins and HB Direct.
