Local Authority Data Sharing (LADS) Programme
The Local Authority Data Sharing Programme (Previously known as Housing Benefit Information Flows Programme HBIFP), are part of the Housing Benefit Delivery Division. Our remit, is to enhance current exchanges between central and local government by streamlining processes and introducing or re-using secure electronic links.
Programme successes
The Housing Benefit Information Flows Programme was responsible for:
- introducing the Customer Information System (CIS) to local authorities (LAs) to replace the Remote Access Terminals (RATS)
- Electronic Transfer of Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit Claim Data from Local Authorities Project (e-Transfer) Phases 1-3
- enabling HMRC tax credit information to be available on CIS
- the Automated Transfers to Local Authority Systems (ATLAS).
Ongoing work and projects:
The LADS Programme is currently running a number of projects and initiatives to improve the data flow between DWP and LAs.
The LADS Delivery Team are building on Automated Transfers to Local Authority Systems (ATLAS) functionality to additionally deliver:
- Benefit Cap
- Electronic Transfer of Data (ETD) replacement
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
