38. What healthcare you can get in other EEA countries
The healthcare you get in the other EEA country is exactly the same as the healthcare given to people who are insured there. The guide “Your social security rights when moving within the European Union” which tells you about other EEA countries' schemes will give you more information. Or you can ask the authorities who run the local sickness insurance scheme in the other country.
You should note that if you pay voluntary insurance contributions to the UK scheme, this does not mean that the UK will pay for your healthcare while you are abroad.
