Moving to another country
This section tells you about the things you may need to know and do before you go, while you are away and when you come back.
If you are moving to another country, let your local Jobcentre Plus office and HMRC Residency know when you are going to leave, and give them your address in the country you are moving to. If you change your address later, let them know the new one too.
When you come back to the UK, tell your Jobcentre Plus office and HMRC Residency as soon as you can that you are back. Then, if anything needs to be done about your contributions or your benefit rights, it can be done straight away. If you do not tell them at once, any benefit claim you make might be affected.
