A large number of other organisations provide help and advice, including:
- Aidis Trust provides advice, information and support on all aspects of computing for disabled people.
- Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (ASBAH) offers advice on independent living, fund-raising, local associations, magazine articles, research etc.
- Breakthrough UK is an organisation controlled, by disabled people. It is committed to working with disabled people on a one to one basis to support them to be independent and to seek paid employment.
- British Red Cross provides local support for independent living.
- Carers UK is the voice of carers and the leading campaigning, policy and information organisation for carers.
- Contact a family offers support and information to parents and carers of children with disabilities or specific health conditions. They can put families in touch with each other where there is no support group.
- Disabled Living Foundation is a national charity that provides impartial advice, information and training on daily living equipment.
- Disabled Parents Network provides information, advice and peer support to disabled parents, their families and supporters. They campaign on locally and nationally to improve services for disabled parents. They also provide training and workshop facilitation to social and health professionals.
- Epilepsy Action is the largest member-led epilepsy organisation in Britain. They campaign to improve epilepsy services and raise awareness of the condition.
- The Epilepsy Society provide information, advice and support to people affected by epilepsy, as well as running a confidential UK helpline and campaigning to raise awareness of the condition.
- Equality and Human Rights Commission champions equality, diversity, and human rights as defining values of our society, encouraging all our institutions to operate for the benefit of every individual.
- Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities aims to improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities. They do this by conducting research and sharing the findings with other people.
- Headway - the brain injury association is a charity set up to provide information, support and services to people, and their family and carers, who have suffered a head injury.
- Independent Living provides information, news, views and products for the elderly and less able, carers and healthcare professionals.
- Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS Society) is the UK's largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
- National Autistic Society offers information about autism and Asperger syndrome as well as advice and details of fund-raising.
- NCIL (National Centre for Independent Living) offers information on independent living and Direct Payments for disabled people and others working in the field.
- Parkinson's Disease Society provides advice on living with Parkinson's disease, and information about support groups and fund-raising.
- Hertfordshire Personal Assistance Support Service provides advocacy, support, advice and information to all people with disabilities in Hertfordshire who wish to live independently and have more control over the support and assistance they need in day-to-day living.
- SCOPE is a disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. Scope's aim is that disabled people achieve equality in a society in which they are as valued, and have the same human and civil rights, as everyone else.
- SIA (Spinal Injuries Association) offers help and information (including legal advice), as well as news, research developments, events and fund-raising.
- UK Disability Directory is one of the UK's most comprehensive sites listing local and national businesses that actively encourage people with disabilities to use their services.
- United Kingdom Disabled People's Council is the UK's democratic representative national organisation, which is a member of the worldwide Disabled People's Movement, through its membership of Disabled Peoples' International.
- United Response (UR) supports people with learning difficulties and mental health problems to have the things they want and need in their lives. They are a national registered charity that works through local services.
- UPDATE is Scotland's national disability information service contains general information, advice, news and support on Scottish disability matters.
