New Gateway for Cornish graduates

Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP), Cornwall’s graduate placement programme, is launching a new scheme called Gateway, to support graduates looking for a job. Gateway will provide an opportunity for selected graduates to develop their employability skills and employment prospects over a ten week course. UCP is a Combined Universities in Cornwall partnership project, managed by Cornwall College and part funded by the European Social Fund.

Gateway graduates will be paid a training allowance plus expenses over the ten weeks and will work together to provide a fantastic business-facing resource for small businesses to tap into (up to fifteen hours a week). UCP will develop an individual learning plan for each graduate and manage their personal and professional development through mentoring and training. Based in a central location, at the heart of business and enterprise in Cornwall, graduates will also assist in the promotion of the service to the Cornish business community and develop their network of contacts to maximise the potential of securing a graduate level job.

This innovative programme will run three times a year but initially there are nine positions available for graduates who completed their degree less than two years ago. Go to the UCP website for more information:
