Comedienne Ruby Wax headlined at Cornwall’s 1 in 4 conference on 6 February, which focussed on the links between work and mental health and wellbeing.
The conference was organised by Cornwall Works 50+ which is supported by ESF Convergence as part of the Innovation, Mainstreaming and Transnationality programme. More than 200 delegates, including representatives from Sweden, France and Poland, listened to Ruby’s opening speech, which drew on her personal experiences of depression and mental illness.
Delegates also heard from those involved in project delivery and wider stakeholders, including moving testimony from combat veterans who described how local ESF Convergence projects Active Plus and Surf Action have made a dramatic difference in helping them live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
