Events and Awards
This section provides information on past, current and future ESF events and award initiatives during the 2007-2013 ESF programme. These can have a local and/or national focus.
ESF events can cover a range of issues, including: strategic matters such as programme priorities and implementation arrangements, the sharing of effective practice and/or the celebration of achievements.
ESF awards initiatives are often linked with events, to enable the winners to be formally presented with their awards and help generate publicity for their success. Awards are typically presented to individuals for their personal achievements and/or to projects for successes related to delivery of their activity to participants.
Two examples of awards initiatives that have local and national dimensions are Adult Learners’ Week (held annually) and the ESF Mainstreaming Awards for Equal Opportunities and Sustainable Development.
Wherever possible, ESF providers and their sub-contractors are strongly encouraged to submit nominations for awards initiatives and to participate in ESF events.
