Harter & Loveless – case study
By making a few simple changes to their business, Harter & Loveless solicitors now provides an effective service for their disabled clients. Hugh Purkiff, partner at the firm, admits they “hadn’t realised how easy and inexpensive these changes could be.”
The firm has a number of disabled clients and provides home visits to those clients who have difficulty visiting the office. Large print documents for visually impaired clients or clients with a learning disability are available on request. A ground floor meeting room has also been set up for clients who use a wheelchair.
Hugh said: “By arranging home visits for some clients and making key documentation available in different formats, we have been able to meet the needs of many disabled clients. We are more satisfied too because we feel that the efforts we make to help disabled people are worthwhile. We believe that we make a real difference to our clients’ lives”.
