Rhondda Local People First Group have met today and make comments on the Disability Living Allowance changes Q1. Lack of flexibility of services Getting out of their house (mobility Prob) Not enough local transport, Staff Support, accessible transport. Health problems like epilepsy No good access for wheelchair users Q2 People who are disabled should not stop at 65 Q3 Support and sometimes double Special Services and therapy Aids and adaptions Special Transport to get out Communication aids ramp Extra things like clothes, bedding due to incontinence probs Q4 No people are confused now It will not make it easier Yes 2 a month will cause problems Q5 Each person should be assessed on need Q6 Tell them by advertising on TV By letting people know where to phone Accessible leaflets Advice Surgeries More sport for people to get out and about to reduce isolation Q7 Review it every couple of years Q8 Shoould take aids and adaptions intoa ccount that a person could use and get hold of Q9 Giving more information No jargon Audio formatt Easy to read and pictorial Q10 The person The persons carer of support To find out about communication issues Q11 Bad: The person will not know what is being said about them.
