The Myners Principles and occupational pension schemes - Volume 1 of 2 Findings from case study research
Research Report No. 195
By Sarah Horack, Allan Martin and Peggy Young
This report is the first of three presenting findings from a research programme designed to assess the extent to which occupational pension schemes have voluntarily changed their investment decision-making practices in keeping with the Principles set out in 2001 by the Myners Review and the Government's Codes of Investment Principles. The report details findings from qualitative case studies of 14 diverse schemes, which included in-depth interviews with trustees, administrators, Investment Consultants, and Fund Managers, as well as analysis of schemes' documentation by a Pensions Actuary. The research was funded by the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Treasury and was carried out by Consensus Research International.
