Diversity in disability - Exploring the interactions between disability, ethnicity, age, gender and sexuality
Research Report No. 188
By Donna Molloy, Tim Knight and Kandy Woodfiled
This large-scale qualitative study built on earlier research conducted for DWP (Disabled for life?: Attitudes towards, and Experiences of, Disability in Britain', DWP Report 173) and aimed to provide a greater understanding of the life experiences of the population of disabled people in Britain. This research explored the complex conceptual and personal issues surrounding the lives of this diverse population, and explored the impact of the dimensions of gender, ethnicity, age and sexuality in addition to disability on their lives, in particular in respect of their experiences of prejudice and discrimination.
