Family change 1999 to 2001
Research Report No. 180
By Alan Marsh and Jane Perry
This report presents findings from the third year of a representative survey of British families with children. This report examines stability and change in terms of family structure, employment, receipt of benefits and tax credits, and child support. It is based on the Families and Children Study (FACS). FACS is a multi-purpose survey, which provides information on how families' behaviour and circumstances change over time. It collects information on a wide range of subjects, such as employment, benefits, income, tax credits, use of services and childcare. The study is sponsored by a number of government departments.
